James "Jim" Graham

Coach Jim Graham was the head girls basketball coach at Peoria Cactus High School.  His Lady Cobras were five time Class 4A State Champions (1987, 1993, 2004, 2007, and 2008).  His Lady Cobras were the State Runners-Up three years running in 1988, 1989, and 1990.

Richard Bratt

Richard "Rich" Bratt was a career high school basketball coach and PE teacher in the northeastern sections of Arizona. Coach Bratt began his career in Holbrook in 1969 after graduating from The Ohio State University.  He moved to Joseph City as the head basketball coach and then to Winslow.  Rich retired from teaching but continued coaching basketball after his Winslow days in Hopi, Ganado, Tuba City, St. Johns and Leupp.

Gary Ernst

Gary Ernst coached Arizona High School Basketball for more than 35 years and won state titles in 3 different decades--and had a runner-up finish in a 4th decade.  You have to go all the way back to 1976 where Chandler's Wolves won Gary his first Title.  The eighties were the sparcest decade for Coach Ernst, but his '81 Wolves were the state runners-up.  The last 15 years of his career, Gary's teams were a dominating force in 5A basketball.  Gary had moved further north to Mesa Mountain View.  The Toros won titles in 1995, 98, 99, 2005, 06, 07, and 11.  They were the state runner-up in 1992.

Doug Shaffer

Coach Shaffer is currently serving on the Executive Board of the AHSACHOF as the annual banquet ceremony chairman.  Doug coached football at Scottsdale Horizon from its beginnings (1980) to the present.  Doug formally retired from the Varsity program in 2002.  He has continued to coach Freshman Football at Horizon ever since.   His 1994 team was the 5A State Champion and  his 1995 team was the runner-up.  Doug and his wife Becky are natives of Western Pennsylvania.  Shaffer was honored with the National Football Foundation Frank Kush Achievement Award.
