Tom Hurt

Tom’s unique football coaching career featured seven Arizona high schools and one Texas high school. He was renown for taking schools that had experienced little, if any, success in football and turning the program around. He accepted jobs at Bowie, Ray, Mohave and Yuma, all schools that had not won a game in the year before he assumed the head coaching responsibilities. His lifetime winning percentage of 60% is an amazing testament to his coaching ability. Tom’s 1979 team at Ray was State Runner-up and his teams were Region Champions five times.
