Nick Karantinos

Nick Karantinos was the head wrestling coach at Mesa Red Mountain High School in the 1990's and 2000's.  His Mountain Lions won the Arizona State 5A Team Title in 1994.  His teams won 5 other region championships during his tenure.  Coach Karantinos dual meet record was an amazing 442-88-1.  Nick served as the USA-Arizona National Team Wrestling coach from 1990 to 2004.  He was the president of the Arizona Wrestling Coaches Association from 1992 to 1998.  Individually Karantinos was an outstanding college wrestler at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  He was the region champio

Carol Jurn

Carol coached volleyball at Buckeye Union High School for 31 years, 29 of those years as head coach. Her teams won an incredible 442 dual matches, were twice state runners-up and captured nine regional championships.   Her overall winning percentage is 66%.   In 1998, she was named State Coach of the Year by the Arizona Coaches' Association and has been honored as Region Coach of the year five times.   Carol was named All-Star head coach in 1986, 1990, 1992, 1999 and 2002 and served as All-Star assistant coach three times.

Dave Vibber

Dave Vibber coached the Corona Del Sol Aztecs to State Championships in 3 different sports over a 30 year career.  Although he is best known as the head wrestling coach, Vibber won State Titles in 1980 in football and 1982 in track and field.  Vibber's teams won 403 dual meets, 6 Central Division crowns, and the 2009 5A State Title.  Vibber left Corona in 2009 to be the athletic director at Madison Meadows Middle School.

Gary Venturo

Gary Venturo was the head football coach at Tempe Corona Del Sol High School for 23 years.  His Aztecs won 154 games and lost 101 during that span.  Although Coach Venturo's boys never won a State Title, he and his teams earned tremendous peer respect for his honesty, integrity, and "put the kids first" mentality.  Many of his best positive comments come from from a list of other Hall of Fame coaches.  Gary fought through a brain tumor, a change in his speech patterns, and other associated debilitating neurological conditions for twenty years after the initial diagnosis.  There are countles

Larry Delbridge

Larry Delbridge has been a fixture in the Coolidge High School football program for the past 30 years.  Coach Delbridge led the Bears to State Titles in 1983 and 1984.  Talked out of retirement, Larry returned as a top assistant and helped Coolidge to 2 more State Titles in 2005 and 2006.  The Bears were also State Runners-Up in 2004 and 2007 with Coach Delbridge as a top assistant.  Coach can still be seen on the sidelines as the Bears were deep into the playoffs in 2014.  Coach Delbridge was honored with the Coolidge football stadium being named after him.
