Cherry Roberds

Cherry Roberds has coached girls sports at Miami High School for over 30 years.  Coach Roberds was the 5th female coach inducted into the Hall of Fame.  Cherry Roberds record is amazing.  Her Lady Vandal tennis teams have won 19 Class 3A State Tennis Championships during her tenure.  They once won the title 10 years in a row (1973-82).  Her teams also have posted 7 Runners-Up seasons.  Coach Roberds also coached a State Title Volleyball team at Miami (1992) and another Runner-Up in Volleyball (1978).   Coach Roberds was inducted into the National High School Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame in

Dave Silcox

Dave began his 23 year head coaching career in Arizona at Phoenix Central High School in 1968.  He coached the Bobcats for 20 years before resigning his coaching duties in 1987 when named Central High School Principal.  He retired from full time administrative duties in 1994 but came out of reitrement in 1997 when asked to coach the Shadow Mountain High raqueteers.  His teams posted an overall record of 271 wins for a winning percentage just shy of 90%, had consecutive dual match undefeated seasons from 1969 through 1982, were region champions 15 times, won the state title twice and were st

Horace "HT" Clothier

H.T. Clothier had a long and successful career coaching Tennis in southeastern Arizona at Duncan High School.  In a career that spanned over 30 years, Coach Clothier's Duncan Wildkats managed to stack more state titles than any other school in this sport.  Coach Clothier's players won State Titles in 1937,44,45,46,47, 56, 57, 60, 62, 68, 70, 73, and 1974 for a grand total of 13 titles.  The Wildkats managed to earn another 8 State Runners-Up during the same period, for a whopping 21 appearances in the finals of the state tennis tournament.
