Jerry Dawson

Jerry Dawson is a baseball coach's baseball coach.  His record is one many aspire to equal, if possible.  Jerry was the head baseball coach at Scottsdale Chaparral for 37 years when he stepped down in 2010.  Coach Dawson leaves behind a state leading 773 victories against only 301 defeats.  Among those 773 wins are eight 5A State Baseball Championships and two Runners-Up.  Three of Dawson's players have gone all the way to the major leagues;  New York Mets Ike Davis, Chicago White Sox Paul Konerko, and Kansas City Royals Brian Bannister.  Jerry's meticulous grooming of his field is legendar

John Gleeson

John Gleeson has the rare distinction of having two baseball fields that bear his name.  Coach Gleeson led the Salpointe Lancers for most of the 1960's and personally built most of the baseball complex while also developing winning teams.  In 1969 Gleeson moved over to Flowing Wells High School and continued to develop winning teams and putting his "touches" on the Flowing Wells diamond.  His Caballeros were always "in the mix" and formidable opponents.  Coach Gleeson was an ACA All Star baseball coach in 1977 and continued coaching for 32 total years.  Gleeson was inducted into the Pima Co

Vince Budenholzer

Vince Budenholzer was the Holbrook Roadrunner's head basketball coach for over 20 years.  Coach Budenholzer's 1971 Roadrunners were the Arizona State 3A Basketball champions.  Holbrook under Vince was also the 1968 and 1974 State Runners-Up.  The Budenholzer's son, Mike (in the pciture with his Dad), was an outstanding athlete at Holbrook, as well, and is now the head basketball coach of the NBA Milwaukee Bucks.  The school district at Holbrook will be naming the new gym after Mike, a recent NBA Coach of the Year (with the Atlanta Hawks).  Dad Vince retired from the head job at Holbrook wit

Bobbi Maldonado Forner

Coach Forner is currently a member of the HOF Executive Board.  Bobbi Maldonado Forner attended Phoenix Union High School and Arizona State University.  Coach Forner taught and coached badminton at Sunnyslope High School for 35 years.  Her final won-loss record stands at 330 wins with only 77 losses.  Bobbi was honored by her peers by being elected to the National High School Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame in the summer of 2018 in South Dakota.  

Larry Fetkenhier

Larry Fetkenhier's name is synonymous with Cactus Cobra Football.  He began coaching in the Peoria District school back in the 1980's and won state titles in 2005 and 2009.  He has more runners-up appearances than most coaches have appearances in title games with five (85, 87, 03, 04, and 2011).  He has a host of players that have gone on to major college football and others have become coaches and teachers.  Coach Fetkenhier is will known for his offensive teams and especially his training of quarterbacks.  Larry is currently the president of the Executive Board of the Coaches Hall of Fame
