Russell Winer

Russ Winer coached high school wrestling for 26 years at Arcadia, Chandler, and Dobson High Schools.  His teams won 135 and only lost 58 in dual matches for a winning percentage of 69.9%.  Winer's Dobson Mustangs were the 1993 Class 5A State Wrestling Champions.  Coach was inducted into the National Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2005.  He was inducted into the Arizona Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame in 2009.  Coach Winer was the All Star Wrestling Coach on two occasions.  In retirement, Russ has been a clinic speaker and served on the High School Junior Olympics Committee.  H

Steve Burke

Steve Burke's Thunderbird Chiefs dominated play for ten years in the 4A conference.  His girls were State Runners-Up in 1996, 97, and 2004.  The Chiefs were outstanding from 2002-2005 with 4 straight appearances in the State Title game.  Coach Burke's Chiefs won the State Title 3 of those 4 years in 2002, 03, and 05.

Eric Kibler

Eric Kibler has been a symbol of excellence in the sport of baseball for Horizon High School for many years.  Coach Kibler's Huskies were the State Champions six times (1995, 96, 2005, 07,08, 2010).  The Huskies were also the State Runners-Up 3 times (2003, 06, and 09).  Coach Kibler is currently a member of the USA Baseball Coaching Staff in the World Tournament.  Eric was selected as the National High School Athletic Association's Coach of the Year in 2013.  The baseball field at Horizon now bears the Kibler name.

Jimmy Jones

Jimmy Jones has long been a very successful football coach in the state of Arizona.  He has coached football and track since the late 1970's and has returned from retirement to be the head coach at Mesquite High School.   Jimmy was an outstanding athlete back in the 1960's at Antelope High School.  He coached at Bullhead City Mohave High School back in the late '70's and early 80's. Coach Jones eventually moved to the Valley and was very successful as the track coach at Mesa Westwood.  His Warriors were the Class 5A State Runners-Up in 1986.  The Warriors were than the back-to-back State Ch

Paul Moro

Paul Moro had an incredible record that few will ever surpass or even equal.  Coach Moro garnered 13 state football titles and 5 runners-up in 29 years as the head football coach at Blue Ridge High School.  Coach Moro played linebacker in college and was a scholarship golfer.  He was the Arizona State Republic Coach of the Year for small school football on several occasions.  In the 1990's Coach Moro's teams won 65 games in a row.  Players from his small school program have gone on to play major college football, play in the NFL, and some are even high school coaches to this day.  Coach Mor
