Joe English

Joe English has spent all but one year of his coaching career at Chaparral High School.  He was an assistant coach the first year and the next 25 years as the head coach.  Coach English' record was a sparkling 73% winning percentage with 480 total wins.  His Firebirds were the Arizona State Girls' Basketball Champions in 1978, 1996, and 2001.  They were also the State Runners-Up in 1993, 1994, 1995, 2000, and 2003.  The Firebirds were also Regional Champions 10 times during that span.  Some of English's best teams had records of 26-2, 27-1, 32-2, and 33-1.  The Arizona Republic honored Coac

Tim Beck

Tim began coaching high school soccer as an assistant at Ironwood High School in 1993.  A year later Tim assumed the head coaching position.  To this date Tim's teams have won 338, lost 90, and tied 17 times for a winning percentage of almost 80%.  Beck's Ironwood Eagles have been the Arizona State Soccer Champions 3 times, State Runners-Up 2 times, and Regional Champions an amazing 11 times.  Coach Beck was named the National Soccer Federation Coach of the Year in 2001, the Region 8 Coach of the Year by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association in 2000 and 2011, the local Regio

Sam Ballard

Sam began his 20 year secondary coaching career at Judson High school in 1978 and was head coach at Camelback and Mountain Pointe High schools for a total of 17 years before moving to the community college ranks.  Coach Ballard's head coaching record included 339 wins and a 65% winning percentage.  His 1980 Judson squad was the State Champion and his teams were also in the Elite Eight 4 times, and the Final Four twice. Ballard's teams were also the Central Region champions 4 times.  Sam was named the Arizona State High School Coach of the Year 3 times and the Region Coach of the Year 5 time

Lois Emshoff

Lois began an incredible 51 year high school coaching career in 1965 at Dysart High School when she was hired as a physical education teacher and head badminton coach.  The 1971 Dysart team captured the state championship when both her singles player and doubles team won state titles.  Based on her successful tenure at Dysart, in 1972 Lois was hired to start a badminton program at Chandler High School.  In 2006 Emshoff retired from teaching, but remains the only badminton coach in Chandler's history.  Coach Emshoff's badminton teams have won 4 Arizona State Badminton Championships and 11 re

Tom Succow

Tom's high school baseball career began in 1975 when he accepted a teaching and assistant baseball coaching position at Casa Grande High School.  One year later he relocated to Brophy College Preparatory in the same role.  By 1978 he was the Brophy head coach.  He has continued in this role at Brophy for an incredible 39 years.  His Broncos won the Division I State Baseball Championship in 2006 and were the State Runners-Up in 1982, 2007, and 2012.  In addition to 5 region championships, the Broncos have won 681 times for a 66% winning percentage over the 39 years.  Early in the 2016 season
