Coach Waldo Lee Bast led the Prescott Badgers in Track and Field for 30 years (1929-1968).  The Badgers were the State Champions in 1952 and the State Runners-Up in 1932.  Bast's teams were also the league champions in track 5 times.  Coach Bast was selected the Coach of the Year in 1932, 34, and 35. 

Phil Kemp was a long time and very successful boy's basketball coach at Phoenix Alhambra High School.  His Lions won two Class 5A State Basketball Championships in 1974 and 1985.  The 1974 title was an amazing game won by Kemp's Lions in 4 overtimes!!!  The Lions bested another Hall of Fame program, Royce Youree's East High School by a lone bucket, 68-66.  Coach finished with an overall record of 159-59.

Bob Roberts coached track out in the West Valley at Buckeye Union High School for 29 years.  He also coached 10 years previously in Kansas.   Coach Robert's Hawks won a state 3A title in 1975  The Hawks were State Runners-Up in 1966, 1976, 1985, 1987, and 1990.  The Buckeye boys under Roberts were third at the state meet in 1966, 1979, 1980, and 1986.  Coach Roberts replaced another Buckeye Hall of Famer, Lenard Agee, as the head basketball coach at Buckeye in 1961.  Roberts was the Treasurer and later the Secretary of the Arizona Coaches Association.  He was the trainer at the ACA All Star

Jerry Loper was a highly successful  football coach at Antelope, Tucson Amphitheater, Mesa Westwood, and Chandler High Schools.  Coach Loper's 1975 Amphi Panthers bested Maryvale by 1 point for the State Title.  Loper moved to the East Valley and his Westwood Warriors won the State Title in 1988.  The Warriors were the State Runners-Up in 1989.  Coach was selected the Coach of the Year in 1975 and 1988. Coach Loper led many off-season clinics for his fellow coaches and was instrumental in the coaches association and the All-Star games.   Jerry Loper was killed by a drunk driver in 1996.  He

Coach Bob Everett was an Arizona High school coach for more than 25 years.  His teams won 7 State Baseball Championship titles at 3 different levels from 2A to 5A.  He also has 3 Runners-Up during that span.  Coach Everett's 1991 Gilbert Tigers captured the 5A State crown.  In addition to 7 titles, Everett's teams were State Runners-Up 3 additional times.  Coach won his first title in 1966 and his last title in 1991.  Coach Everett was the ACA All Star Baseball Coach in 1974 and 1980.  Everett was honored as the Arizona Baseball Coach of the Year in 1983 and was the Arizona Republic's Male

Al Munoz was a great athlete in high school and college.  Boxing was probably Al's first love in athletics.  Coach Munoz served in WWII and was the All Services Heavyweight Boxing Champion.  Later in life Al became an internationally acclaimed boxing official, refereeing major bouts around the globe.  In addition to the Arizona Coaches Hall of Fame, Al is also a member of the Arizona Boxing Hall of Fame, Top Rank Hall of Fame, and the Arizona Hispanic Sports Hall of Fame.  Two of Coach Munoz' six children ended up in public school coaching, as well.  Mr.

Jesse Parker was an outstanding football coach with stops at Camelback, Mesa Mountain View, Texarkana Texas, and Gilbert High Schools.  Jesse's teams were characterized by toughness and discipline.  Coach Parker's 1973 Camelback Spartans were state runners-up and his 1974 team was the 5A state champions.  Jesse moved on to the new expanding East Valley and set up shop at Mesa Mountain View.  Jesse Parker and the Mountain View Toros became a household name for the next 15 years with state titles in 1978, 83, 86, and 93.  Three other Toros teams were runners-up in 1987, 88, and 92.  Parker wa
