Jimmy Jones

Jimmy Jones has long been a very successful football coach in the state of Arizona.  He has coached football and track since the late 1970's and has returned from retirement to be the head coach at Mesquite High School.   Jimmy was an outstanding athlete back in the 1960's at Antelope High School.  He coached at Bullhead City Mohave High School back in the late '70's and early 80's. Coach Jones eventually moved to the Valley and was very successful as the track coach at Mesa Westwood.  His Warriors were the Class 5A State Runners-Up in 1986.  The Warriors were than the back-to-back State Ch

Jerry Loper

Jerry Loper was a highly successful  football coach at Antelope, Tucson Amphitheater, Mesa Westwood, and Chandler High Schools.  Coach Loper's 1975 Amphi Panthers bested Maryvale by 1 point for the State Title.  Loper moved to the East Valley and his Westwood Warriors won the State Title in 1988.  The Warriors were the State Runners-Up in 1989.  Coach was selected the Coach of the Year in 1975 and 1988. Coach Loper led many off-season clinics for his fellow coaches and was instrumental in the coaches association and the All-Star games.   Jerry Loper was killed by a drunk driver in 1996.  He

Ralph Moran

Coach Ralph Moran was a charter member of the Arizona High School Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame.  Coach started his career in Cottonwood, moved to Seligman and ultimately to Wickenburg.   Coach Moran led the Wickenburg Wranglers to many a good season on the gridiron.  Coach Moran was the team leader for 32 years.  His teams compiled a 200-109-3 record during that span.  His 1957 and 1977 teams were the Class B State Football Champions. Coach also was successful at basketball (133-90) and baseball (96-48).  The football stadium at Wickenburg High School has been named "Ralph G.

Bill Gahn

Coach Bill Gahn began his Arizona coaching career at Prescott High School in 1979.  he coached 17 years at Prescott.  In 1996, he moved to Sunrise Mountain in Peoria where he coached another 3 years.  Gahn retired from football in 1999 with an overall coaching record of 125 wins, 74 losses, and 6 ties.  His Prescott Badgers won 5 Skyline Regional Championships (1984, 85, 88, 91, and 93).  Bill was selected Region Coach of the Year 4 times (1984, 88, 91, and 93).  He was the Head ACA All Star Coach twice (1988 and 1996), and an All Star Assistant twice (1983 and '89).  Coach Gahn was an acti

Richard Gray

Richard Gray was a successful football coach in high school and college for over 33 years. Coach Gray spent time at Shadow Mountain, Horizon, Gilbert, Chandler, and the Arizona Boy's Ranch.   His early 2000's Arizona Boys Ranch teams were among the best at the 3A level.  The Boy's Ranch teams were State Runners-Up in 2002 and 2003.  Coach Gray was an All Star Coach in 2001 and 2005.   Coach Gray also was a Defensive Line Coach at Northern Arizona University.  Richard was the Arizona State Coach of the Year in 1981 and 2002.  Coach Gray is a lifetime member of the Arizona Coaches Association

Richard Imhoff

Coach Richard "Dick" Imhoff was a 3 sport coach at Gila Bend and Salome High Schools in western Arizona.  At Salome Imhoff's teams won seven division championships.  Coach Imhoff's Salome Frogs were the 1979 football State Runner-Up and the 1980 State Champions.  Coach Imhoff also was a State Runner-Up in boy's basketball in 1985.  Another State Title came in boy's track in 1981.  Imhoff's overall football record was 134-82-3.  Imhoff had coached 24 years in Arizona at the time of his induction. 

Karl Kiefer

Karl Kiefer has long been associated with the highest levels of success in Arizona High School Football.  His 309 wins at one time were #1 in Arizona and still put him in the top 7.  Coach Kiefer won 3 State Championships at Tempe McClintock High School.  He finished his career at the new Tempe Mountain Pointe High School.  Coach Kiefer, in his seventies, continued to help the Pride at MP in the JV and Freshmen programs up until 2012.  Coach Kiefer was even more successful at Track when he moved to Mountain Pointe, the Pride won State 5A Track Titles in 1995, 96, 97, and 2002.  Karl was one

Walt Beamis

Walt Beamis was an outstanding football coach for 20 years at Phoenix Christian High School.  His Cougars won back to back State Titles in 1984 and 1985. His Cougars compiled a record of 140-64-4 with 8 Division titles along the way  Coach Beamis was an ACA All-Star Football Coach three times and the ACA Game Dedicatee in 1986.  He was selected the District 8 Coach of the Year in 1974 and 1982.  Walt was selected from District 8 as one of the finalists for the National Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 1986.  Beamis' Cougar Track team was the 1974 State Champion.  Coach Beamis passed

Lonnie Foster

Coach Lonnie Foster led his Eloy Santa Cruz Dust Devils to State Football Championships in 1965, 66, and 1969.  Two of those teams were undefeated 12-0.  Coach Foster is on the left in the current picture.  Coach Foster was selected by his peers in the Arizona Coaches Hall of Fame to be inducted into the National High School Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame in 2016.

Truman Williamson

Truman Williamson was a charter member of the Arizona Coaches Association Hall of Fame.  Coach Williamson remained a Varsity Head Football Coach well into his 70's.  The football field in Sierra Vista bears the Williamson name.
