Emil Nasser

Emil was a charter member of the Arizona Coaches Hall of Fame in 1984 and a charter member of the National High School Association's Hall of Fame in 1996.  Emil was the head coach of the Winslow Bulldogs from 1947 to 1983.  The Bulldogs were state champions in 1948, 49, and 1964.  Coach Nasser won 243 games during his tenure which was one of  the highest total of victories at the time.  Coach Nasser is also in the Northern Arizona University Athletic Hall of Fame.  Emil chose Winslow over a pro football career with the Los Angeles Dons and now the stadium is named after him.  Emil came out

Thurman Simmons

Thurman was one of 32 charter members inducted into the HOF.  He coached football 33 years starting in New Mexico with stops in Parker, Holbrook, and Tolleson.  Thurman coached 2 state runners-up (Parker in 1967 and Tolleson in 1978).  In addition to being active in the Arizona Coaches Association, Thurman is also a member of the National High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame (2001).  Thurman was recognized again by the AZHOF at the 2015 banquet for long and meritorius service to his profession and his peers. Thurman also served as a Regional Director for the National High School Ath
